A concave lens is thinner in the middle and thicker at the edges. A convex lens is thicker in the middle and thinner at the edges. Used in the camera, focus sunlight, overhead projector, projector microscope, simple telescope, magnifying glasses, etc. It is also used for the correction of the problem in long sight.

Convex lens are used to show the specific object in clear. The lens is thicker in middle it attracts only single object(v) when the light passes through the convex lens.

Eg: microscope and long site spectacles

Concave lens or negative lens in the form of curving inward it is just opposite to that convex lens. Which means they reflect the rays or spreading out(x) when the light passes on it.

Eg: flashlight and telescopes
