acids reacts with carbonate to form salt water and carbon dioxide. always remember that when you see carbonate there will be release of CO2 for sure
for example
calcium carbonate + hydrochloric acid gives rise to calcium chloride + water + carbon dioxide
magnesium carbonate + sulphuric acid gives rise to magnesium sulphate + water + carbon dioxide
for example
calcium carbonate + hydrochloric acid gives rise to calcium chloride + water + carbon dioxide
magnesium carbonate + sulphuric acid gives rise to magnesium sulphate + water + carbon dioxide
