Wanda Petronski didn't come to school that day because she had moved to another city with her parents.
She left the school and even the city (where her school was situated) because everyday in her school, she was taunted and humiliated by Peggy and Maddie (but not as much Peggy).
Also, Wanda came to school wearing the same dress (shabby but clean blue dress). So, Peggy asked her how many dresses she (Wanda) had. And, Wanda always replied that she had a hundred dresses in all.
But it was clear from Wanda's dress that she was lying. So, Peggy made fun of her.
Wanda felt humiliated and this thing happend everyday to her. So, she and her family finally decided to leave the town and settle to another one.
