For correct answer he will get = 200
For wrong answer he will lose = 300

let correct answer be x
let wrong answer be y

we know,

x + y = 30. - ( 1 )

and we also know that,

x * 200 + y * ( -300 ) = 0.

200x - 300y = 0

100 ( 2x - 3y ) = 0

2x - 3y = 0 - ( 2 )

Now take two equation

x + y = 30
2x - 3y = 0

multiply eq ( 1 ) with 2

so , we will get

2x + 2y = 60
2x - 3y = 0

subtract both the equation

so, we will get

5y = 60

y = 12

Now put this in eq ( 1)

x + 12 = 30

x = 18

so, correct answer = 18
incorrect answer = 12
