later cr 5 ohm same current will flow through 8 ohm.

later they will meet at 5ohm and later at b so 5+8=13 is the upward side resistance. 1/13+1/6 +4+5 is equivalent resistance.which is approximately 9.24 ohm i.e. 9 ohm.
