Given :-

  • Mass = 1 kg
  • Force applied = 6N
  • Distance covered = 12 m
  • Initial velocity = 0 m/s

To Find :-

  • Time taken by the object to cover 12m

Formula used :-

  • F = mass x acceleration
  • s = ut + 1/2 at²

Solution :-

We know that,

F = mass x acceleration

Therefore,

  =  > 6N = 1kg \:  \times x \\  =  > x =  \frac{6}{1}  = 6m/ {s}^{2}

Now, for time taken,

Using second equation of motion,

s = ut +  \frac{1}{2} a {t}^{2}

Putting the values we get,

 =  > 12 =  0 \times t +  \frac{1}{2}  \times 6 \times  {t}^{2}  \\  =  > 12 = 3{t}^{2}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  =  >   {t}^{2}  =  \frac{12}{3}  = 4 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  =  > t =  \sqrt{4}  = 2 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

Therefore the time taken by the object to cover 12m = 2 second.
