Answer:

5. 3m

6. 6 hours

7. 24 km

Step-by-step explanation:

5. It is given that, Saili plants 4 saplings in a row in her garden. The distance between two adjacent saplings is 3/4 m. To find the distance between first and last sapling,

 =  \frac{3}{4}  \times 4 \\  = 3 \: m

Therefore, the distance between the first and last sapling is 3 m.

6. Lipika reads a book for 1×3/4 hours everyday. She reads the entire book in 6 days. To find how many hours she read in total,

 = 1 \times \frac{3}{4}  \times 6 \\  = 1 \times \frac{3}{2}  \times 3 \\  =  \frac{3}{2}  \times 3 \\   \\  = \frac{3}{2}  \times  \frac{3}{1}

By taking LCM of the denominators,

 \frac{3 \times 1}{2 \times 1}  \times  \frac{3 \times 2}{1 \times 2 }  \\  =  \frac{3}{2}  \times  \frac{6}{2}  \\   =  \frac{18}{2}  \\  = 6

She read 6 hours in total.

7. A car runs 16 km using 1 l of petrol. To find out the distance it will cover in 2×3/4 litres of petrol,

 = 16 \times 2 \times \frac{3}{4}  \\  = 4 \times 2 \times 3 \\  = 24

The car can run 24 km using 2×3/4 l of petrol.

Answer:

★ Hey dear, here is your answer.

★ Hope it will helps....................

Step by step explanation:

1. Total saplings = 4

Distance between two saplings = 3/4 m.

So, distance between 3 saplings:-

[ as we have to have to find the distance

between first and last sapling.]

=> 3/4 × 3 = 9/4 m. Since, in 9/4 N > D

=> 2 whole number 1/4 ( answer)

2. Lipika reads a book each day for

= 1 whole no. 3/4 hours.

She will require hours for read the book in 6

days :-

=> 1 whole no. 3/4 × 6

=> 7/4 × 6

=> 7/2 × 3

=> 21/2

=> 21 whole no. 1/2 hrs. (answer)

3. The car covers distance using 1 l of petrol

= 16 km

Then, it will cover distance using

2 whole no. 3/4 l of petrol :-

=> 2 whole 3/4 × 16

=> 11/4 × 16

=> 44 km ( answer)
