We know that sum of all angles in a quadrilateral is 360°

(i) 80 + 110 + 90 + a = 360

280 + a = 360 ----(see image)

a = 360 - 280

a = 80

a + x = 180 -------- [linear pair]

80 + x = 180

x = 180 - 80

x = 100

(ii) x + x + 65 + 35 = 360

2x + 100 = 360

2x = 360 - 100

2x = 60

x = 60/2

x = 30
