Here the poet says that a person left him/her. The person who left the poet can be anyone, it can be the poet's significant other, i.e. his partner or could be someone close to him (friends/family, etc). The one who left him has left the poet behind with no hope of living (here 'living' could also mean doing nothing good in life or having no hopes of moving on and it could also mean taking one's life). The one left the poet with a broken soul meaning he/she can no longer feel, he/she can no longer continue because his/her heart is broken. The poet is now in a world that was never meant for him/her. The poet might have been happy when that particular person was with him/her but now that the person has left ,the poet feels that the world is cruel and isn't meant for him/here. Here leaving couldn't mean leaving i.e leaving the poet far behind and it could also mean death.
