Given that:

=> 2x - 2 / 3x +4 = - 5 / 2

By cross multiplication

=> 2 ( 2x - 2) = - 5 ( 3x + 4)
=> 4x - 4 = - 18 x - 20
=> 4x + 18x = - 20 + 4
=> 22x = - 16
=> x = - 16 / 22
=> x = - 8 / 11
