Hey

Here carbon has 6 electrons and oxygen contains 8 electrons

The valency of carbon is 4

The valency of oxygen is 6

Therefore all the electrons of both of them are arranged around individual atom

1 bond contains 2 electrons and therefore a bond is formed between oxygen and carbon

But as the valency of carbon is 4 and it is not fulfilled because only 3 electrons are present

A triple bond is formed between carbon and oxygen fulfilling the valency of both of them

Hope this may help you
