For finding the Area of the shaded portion, we can simply subtract the area of the circle from the area of the square.

Given,

AB = 14cm

If a circle is inscribed in a square, then the side of the square will be equal to the diameter of the circle.

So, Diameter(d) = 14cm

Radius(r) = 7cm

Area of Square = (14)² = 196cm²

Area of Circle =

\pi {r}^{2}

= 22/7*7*7

= 22*7

= 154cm²

Area of the shaded portion = Area of square- area of Circle

= 196-154

= 42cm²
