ANSWER:-

GIVEN:

_________

The diameter of the ends is:

AB=CD=14cm

BC=AD=28cm

TO FIND:

____________

Area of the flower bed

SOLUTION:

______________

AB=CD=14cm (breadth)

BC=AD=28cm (length)

so it's a rectangle.

The area of the ABCD is:

length × breadth

=28cm×14cm

=392 cm^2

the radius of 1st and 3rd semicircular ends is

=d/2

=14/2

=7cm

the area of both 1st and 3rd semicircular ends is equal.

the area is: 2(πr^2)

=2(3.14×(7cm)^2)

=2×3.14×49cm^2)

=2×153.86cm^2

=307.72cm^2

the radius of the 2nd and 4th semicircular ends is

=d/2

=28cm/2

=14cm

the area of the 2nd and 4th semicircular ends is equal.

the area is : 2(πr^2)

=2(3.14×(14cm)^2)

=2(3.14×196cm^2)

=2×615.44cm^2

=1230.88cm^2

the total area of the flower bed is

=the area of four semicircular ends + the area of ABCD

=(1230.88+307.72)cm^2 + 392cm^2

=1538.6cm^2 + 392cm^2

=1930.6cm^2

Hence the area of the flower bed is 1930.6cm^2.
