One possible method I found:-
1. Fill up the 12L jar.
2. Fill up the 5L jar and pour it in 8L jar.
3. Fill up the 5L jar and pour some of it in 8L jar. This will leave 8L milk in 1 jar and 2L milk in 5L jar
4. Empty 8L jar and fill 2L milk from the 5L jar.
5. Fill the 5L jar and pour it in 8L jar. This will leave 7L in that jar.
6. Now, fill up 5L jar. This will leave 7L in one jar and 5L in other one, which would make the total 12L milk in 8L and 5L jars.
7.Give the 12L jar to one person and 8L and 5L jar to another person. Both of them would get 12L of milk.
