Answer :-

The values of x and y are 7/5 and 2.

Step-by-step explanation :-

Given :

If \left[\begin{array}{ccc}2&3\\-1&0\end{array}\right] \left[\begin{array}{ccc}x\\y\end{array}\right] = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}7\\-2\\\end{array}\right].

To find :

The values of x and y ?

Solution :

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}2&3\\-1&0\end{array}\right] \left[\begin{array}{ccc}x\\y\end{array}\right] = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}7\\-2\\\end{array}\right]

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}2x+3x\\-1y+0\\\end{array}\right] = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}7\\-2\\\end{array}\right]

Now,

[2x + 3x] = 7

[-1y + 0] = -2

We get,

2x + 3x = 7

5x = 7

∴ x =7/5

-1y + 0 = -2

-1y = -2

∴ y = 2

∴ The values of x and y are 7/5 and 2.
