First
You need to cube the first given equation so you'll get the value of x^3+1/x^3.
(using (a+b)^3 = a^3 + b^3 + 3ab(a+b))
you'll get x^3 + 1/x^3 = 8 + 3(x+1/x)
Second
You need to substitute the value of it in the value of what is asked.
then the 3(x+1/x) and -3(x+1/x) will go to 0
so you'll get the answer = root of 9 which is 3
