Step-by-step explanation:

a)Area= Area of circle - Area of square

area = {(pi)*(r^2)}-2^2

area = (pi*81)-4

area = 254.57-4

area = 250.57cm2 or 81pi-4cm2

b)Area= Area of square - Area of circle

area = (8*8)-(pi*{4^2})

area = 64-16pi

area = 13.73cm2

c)Area= Area of the rectangle -  Area of large circle - Area of small circle

area = (7*12)-(pi*{2^2})-(pi*{1^2})

area = 84 - 4pi - pi

area = 84-5pi m2

area = 68.29m2

d)Area= Area of the triangle - Area of the circle

area = {(1/2)*10*15} - {pi*(2.5^2)}

area = 75 - (25/4)pi cm2

area = 55.37cm2

e)Area= Area of trapezium - Area of the circle

area = {[(19+12)/2]*15} - {pi*5^2}

area = (232.5)-25pi cm2

area = 153.96cm2

f)Area= Area of the rectangle + Area of the 2 sectors

area = (3*12) + 2({1/2}*pi*6^2)

area = 36 + 36pi cm2

area = 149.1 cm2

Given :  Few figures with shaded region

To find : Shaded area

Solution:

2 a)   Diameter = 18 cm

Radius = 18/2 = 9 cm

Area of Shaded region = Area of Circle - Area of Square

= π (9)² - 2²

250   cm²

2b)   Diameter = 8 cm Radius = 4 cm

Area of Shaded region

= Area of Square - Area of Circle

= 8² - π4²

14 cm²

2 c)    12²  - π2² - π1²  = 144 - 5π  ≈ 128 cm²

2 d)     (1/2)10 * 15  - π (5/2)²   ≈ 55 cm²

2 e)     (1/2)(19 + 12) * 15  -  π (5)² ≈  154 cm²

2 f)     12 * 3   + (1/2)π6² +  (1/2)π6²    ≈ 149 cm²
