The movie 3 idiots is base on friendship also that it is not important to be a rich person to have the ability to work or get education. Its Al about the way you receive something or adapt it. It also tells us that the only key to success is hardwork. And even that only friends are the ones who helps us in our good or bad times. Family is surely there for us but the support of friends gives us more courage to face our problems.

The message of the movie is that always respect your family, whatever the situation is. And always be a good friend. Because friends are the one to whom you can tell anything and they are a mirror of yours in whom you can see yourself.
