Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ 29 :-
Let us Assume that, Present salary of Ravi & Sumit are 2x & 3x Respectively .
So , when Their Salary is Increased by Rs.4000 each,
→ New salary or Ravi = (2x + 4000)
→ New salary or Sumit = (3x + 4000)
Now, it is Given That, Ratio of Their New Salary is 40:57.
So,
→ (2x + 4000) : (3x + 4000) = 40 : 57
→ (2x + 4000) / (3x + 4000) = 40 / 57
→ 57(2x + 4000) = 40(3x + 4000)
→ 114x + 57*4000 = 120x + 40*4000
→ 120x - 114x = 57*4000 - 40*4000
→ 6x = 4000(57 - 40)
→ 6x = 4000 * 17
→ 6x = 68000
→ x = Rs. 11333.33
Hence,
→ Before Salary of Sumit = 3x = 11333.33 * 3 = Rs.34,000
Therefore,
→ Present Salary of sumit = 34000 + 4000 = Rs.38,000 (Ans). (Option D) .
Note :- Option D is Wrongly written it is 38,000 not 38,0000.

Solution 30 :-
we know That :-
if a : b :: c : d
Than,
⇒ Product of extremes = Product of means
⇒ a x d = b x c
we have :-
→ 0.75 : x :: 5 : 8
So,
→ 0.75 * 8 = 5 * x
→ 5x = 6
→ x = (6/5)
→ x = 1.2 (Option B) (Ans.)

QUESTION 29 (Solution)
Let the salary of Ravi be 2x, and the salary of Sumit be 3x.
Given that, their salaries are increased by ₹ 4000.
⤳ So, new salary of Ravi = ₹2x + 4000
⤳ And new salary of Sumit = ₹3x + 4000
A/q,
The ratio of their new salaries is 40 : 57.
So, we get :
Sumit's salary = 3x
⟿ Sumit's previous salary = 3 × 11333.33
⟿ Sumit's previous salary = ₹ 34,000
Now, the current salary of Sumit = 3x + 4000
⟿ Sumit's salary = 34,000 + 4000
⟿Sumit's salary = ₹ 38,000
The answer is (d) ₹ 38,000.
(Its printed the wrong value. It is printed 380000 instead of 38000. Be careful about this.)
