A pressure sensor (see Figure) consists of a flexible membrane that moves the
rectangular plates of a capacitor closer together when the pressure is higher. Assume
that the plates are 1.00 × 5.00 . At a low pressure, the plate separation is
2.15 , while at a high pressure the plates are 1.85 apart. Assume that the
space between the plates contains air. What is the change in capacitance between the
two pressure values? Is the capacitance higher or lower when the pressure is higher?
