Dominant refers to the relationship between two versions of a gene. Individuals receive two versions of each gene, known as alleles, from each parent

Co dominance is a relationship between two versions of a gene. Individuals receive one version of a gene, called an allele, from each parent.

Multiple allelism is the state of having more than two alternative contrasting characters controlled by multiple alleles at a single genetic locus.

Single cross

  • When a tall plant crosses with a dwarf plant in the f1 generation all the offsprings are tall [Tt] here T is dominant over t
  • The ABO system of blood groups is controlled by three alleles, only two of which are present in an individual. This represents multiple alleles
  • Both alleles show dominance, as in the case of the AB blood type (IA IB) in humans.it represents codominance
