The centres of the circles & the point of contact are collinear.

Two circles touching internally at C.

A & B are the centres.

AC= AB+ BC (Betweenness property)

AB is the distance between the centres.

AC = 8 units (radius of the larger circle)

BC= 3 units ( radius of the smaller circle)

AC-BC= AB

8–3 = AB

5 = AB

Ans: The distance between the centres of the given circle is 5 units.
