an Assignment. Ronald takes 6
hours to type 32 pages on a
computer, while Elan takes 5
hours to type 40 pages. How
much time will they take working
together on two different
computers to type an assignment
of 110 pages ?
(1) 7 hrs. 30 min.
(2) 8 hrs.
(3) 8 hrs. 15 min.
(4) 8 hrs. 25 min.

divyasharma2497: i got this one -----> 1 hr work R = 32/6=16/3 .....1hr work of E= 40/5=8 pages

divyasharma2497: add 1 hr total page= 16/3 +8 = 40/3 pafes

divyasharma2497: so 1 page = 3/40 hrs ,thus

divyasharma2497: 110 pages = 3/40 *110 =33/4 = 8 hr .15 min

A does a work in one day
B = b
C = c

and total work is x

so

8(a+b) = x
a+b = x/8

24(b+c) = x
b+c = x/24

60/7(c+a) = x
c+a = 7x/60
_________________
2(a+b+c) = x(1/8+1/24+7/60)
=> a+b+c = x/2(1/2+1/6+7/15)/4
= x/8(17/15)
= 17x/120

so
c = 17x/120 - x/8

and so on
