Here, (x-2) and (x- 1/2) are factors of px^2 + 5x + r which means 2 & 1/2 are zeros of the given polynomial.

In case of quadratic equation
Product of zeros= c/a
if quadratic equation is ax^2 +bx+c
Here, product of zeros = r/p
so,
product of zeros =2 × (1/2) =1
now,
1= r/p
so, r=p
Just another way of doin' it.
