Solution:

| 3 x + 1  |  = 0

=> 3x + 1 = 0

=> x = - 1/3

| 5x + 2 |  = - 6     has no solution as | |  is always positive

| 2x -  1 |   = 5

=> 2x - 1 = 5    or  2x - 1  = - 5

=> x = 3     or  x  = -2

x/2 - 1 = 15
