Let in t hours the distance traveled is 7 mile and 3 mile in with and without ocean current respectively

then

(x+1)*t=7

xt+t=7-------------(1)

and x*t=3

xt=3

putting value of xt in (1)

3+t=7

t=7-3=4 hrs

But xt=3

4x=3

x=3/4

hence the speed of rowboat in still water =3/4 mph
