Pledge to Protect the Girl Child

Join millions of people in a Pledge to Protect the Girl Child

The Art of Living with the support of UNICEF and MTV India is launching a national campaign in the month of December 2013 inspiring people of all ages and backgrounds to make their pledges on www.thegirlpledge.org. The campaign addresses 5 critical issues affecting the Girl Child today. Female feticide, abuse and violence, child marriage, malnutrition and education.

Nations have transformed and revolutions have happened and often it all began with just a pledge. Make an individual pledge or in your communities, organizations and institutions gather groups and make a group pledge. Become a part of a transformation that will change the lives of the Girl Child. Forever.

This is a Volunteer for a Better India initiative.

Pledge

India is celebrating National Girl Child Day today. India is a country with a rich history of powerful female role models in various fields of work, right from politics, to sports, to art & culture, to academics and administration, as well as in religion and mythology, wherein Goddesses are worshipped for strength and bravery. Yet, in 2012, according to the United Nations (Department of Economic and Social Affairs), India became the most dangerous place in the world to be born a girl.

Hope it's help uh
