now in trapezium EDFC,

DC = 17 - 8 = 9 cm

h = 6 cm

a=8 cm

b= 9 cm

area = 8+9/2 * 6

=17/2 * 6

=17 * 3

= 51 cm^2

now in trapezium DCAB,

a=17 cm

b=9 cm

h= 9

area = 17+9/2 * 9

=26/2 * 9

= 13 * 9

= 117 cm^2

.'. total area = area of EFDC + area of DCAB

=  51 + 117

= 168 cm^2
