231 m^2 is the area of the path.

C = 55 m
Therefore circumference of the inner circle = 2π r
55 m = 2×22/7×r
(55×7)÷44 = r
35/4=r
8.75 m = r
So, radius of the inner circle = 8.75 m
Thus, radius of the outer circle = 8.75 m + 3.5 m = 12.25m

Now , area of the outer circle = π r^2
= 23/7 × 12.25^2
= 471.625 m^2

Now, area of the inner circle = π r^2
= 22/7 × 8.75 ^2
= 240.625 m^2

Therefore area of the path= area of outer circle - area of inner circle
= 471.625m^2 - 240.625m^2
= 231m^2
