Answer:

x = 70°  y = 60°

Step-by-step explanation:

We have,

x + 50° = 120°       [using exterior property of triangle]

or,  x = 70°

x + y + 50° = 180          [sum of all angles of triangle]

y = 60°

Given :-

A = x

B = 50°

C = y

D = 120°

To find :-

Unknown values

Concept to know :-

In a triangle sum of three angles is 180°

Linear pair is nothing but The sum of two angles which forms straight line sum is 180°

Solution :-

In a given triangle ABC

C forms linear pair with D

Hence ,

C + D = 180°

y + 120° = 180°

y = 180°-120°

y = 60°

So, Value of C = 60°

We know that,

In a triangle sum of three angles is 180°

A + B + C = 180°

x + 50° + y = 180°

x + 50° + 60° = 180°

x + 110° = 180°

x = 180-110

x = 70°

A = 70°

So,

  • x = 70°
  • y = 60°
