Answer: The ratio of velocity of A to that of B is 2:1.

Explanation:

Mass of body A = 4 kg

Mass of body B = 16 kg

Assume that,

  • velocity of A = v
  • velocity of B = v′

And given that,

KE of A = KE of B

=> ½ 4v² = ½ 16v′²

(KE = ½ mv²)

=> v² = 4v′²

=> v = √(4v′²) = 2v′

∴ v/v′ = 2/1
