The play named "The Pot of gold" has a beautiful plot and it was written by Plautus. The whole play assumed the form of a monologue.

In this story, Euclio was a poor old person and eventually he came across a pot of gold.

At one point of time, a household deity(ghost) in his house,  narrated about an incident where an old person had got gold. This deity was very pleased by the way Phaedria had shown devotion and here it was also revealed how Phaedria was ravished by a person belonging to a good status.

Later, there are instances about this girl named Phaedria and it had been shown that at then end of the story, Euclio was successful in getting this pot of gold because of Phaedria, who was supposed to get married and this pot of gold was given as a token of dowry for that marriage.

So the whole story seemed to be revolved around the pot of gold.
