To plot:- A(2,2), B(2,-3), C(8,-3), D(8,2)

here when I plotted, and counted the distance between two vertex By distance formula

I got, AD = BC = 6 and AB = CD = 5.

  • Let me tell you how to calculate Distance by Distance Formula

A = (2,2) = (x1, y1) and D = (8,2) = (x2, y2)

  • By distance formula

d(AD) = √((x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²)

= √(( 8 - 2)² + (2 - 2)²)

= √((6)² + 0²)

= √(36 + 0) = √36 = 6

•°• AD = 6

similarly, AD = BC = 6 and AB = CD = 5.

The Given Figure plotted in the graph is a rectangle, as opposite sides are equal and all angle is 90°.

A(□ ABCD) = l × b = 5 × 6 = 30

A(■ABCD) = 30 unit²

Answer The Area of the plotted figure is 30 unit² .

Figure is a trapezium and the coordinates of the point of intersection of AC with the y axis are (0,-1).

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertices of a quadrilateral are A(-2,-2), B(4,-2), C(8,3), D(-3,3).

Plot these points on a coordinate plane and join them in order as shown below.

From the below figure it is clear that the figure ABCD is a trapezium because only two opposite sides are parallel and other two sides are non-parallel.

Now, join AC and BD as shown below.

From the figure we can say that the line AC intersect the y-axis at (0,-1).

Therefore, the coordinates of the point of intersection of AC with the y axis are (0,-1).
