Plot the points on the Cartesian co-ordinate system: A (0, 0); B (3, 0) and C (3, 4). What

On plotting these points as shown, we get,

a figure in rectangular shape as:

(i) OA and BC are of same length and parallel.

(ii) AB and CO are of same length and parallel.

(iii) All sides are perpendicular.

Since, the opposite sides of the figure obtained are equal and parallel, and all the sides are perpendicular, the figure is rectangle.
