To plot point  (2 , -4)

Go 2 unit right of origin and then  4 unit below

To plot point  (8 ,  4)

Go 8 unit right of origin and then  4 unit above

Figure obtained is Trapezium as on pair of line is parallel

Figure obtained are two triangles
