acceleration = 1m/s²

u = 5m/s

time = t

a = v-u/t

1 = -5/t or 5/t ( as it's decelerating , (-) can be omitted)

t = 5s

therefore, distance = ut + ½ at²

= 5×5 + 1×5²/2

= 25 + 25/2

= 75/2

= 37.5 m
