Answer:

let the present age of son be x and father be 3x+4

so,

3x+4+3= 2(x+3) +10

therefore, 3x+7=2x+6+10 , so, x= 16-7 , hence, x=9

therefore present age of son=9 years and that of father=3×9+4 =27+4=31 years

Answer:

Father's present age is 31 years .

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation:

Given , the present age of the father is 4 years more than thrice the age of his son .

Let the present age of son be x years .

Than , present age of father = 3x + 4

Step 1:

Three years later , age of son = x + 3

And age of father = 3x+4 +3= 3x+ 7 ......(i)

According, to the question three years later father's age will be 10 years more than twice to the age of his son .

Therefore , age of father = 10 + 2 (x+3) ......(ii)

On solving (i) and (ii) we get ,

3x + 7 = 10 + 2(x+ 3)

⇒3x + 7 = 10 + 2x + 6

⇒ x = 16 - 7 = 9.

So,  the present age of son is 9 years and

Father present age is  3 x + 4  = 3 (9) + 4 = 27 + 4 = 31 years .

Final answer:

Hence , the present age of father is 31 years .
