Teeth divide the food into small simpler pieces so that it cab easily be digested and tongue helps to make the food slipry by mixing saliva in it so that it can pass easily through oesophagus

There are four types of teeth in mouth :

Incisors : the outermost teeth that have a sharp edge for biting and enable food to be cut into small chewable pieces.

Canines : sharp and pointy teeth in the corner of mouth that are used for ripping and tearing apart food that might be tough , such as meat.

Premolars and molars : unlike incisors and canines , premolars and molars have a flat biting surface because they are meant for crushing and grinding food.

During chewing , salivary glands (major ones are located under the tongue, in the cheek and close to the jawline and small ones scattered throughout the mouth) secrete saliva, which moistens food , making it softer and warmer , which helps break it down even more and easier to chew and swallow. The tongue assists saliva to make the food softer to digest so it can pass down your throat.
