Mass of bullet = 10g or 0.01kg

velocity of bullet = 150m/s

Mass of wood = 5kg

It's velocity = 0m/s (cause it's in rest)

Total momentum before the impact =m1v1+m2v2

=0.01kg×150 + 5×0

=1.5 +0 = 1.5kgm/s

Now, after the impact

Mass = 0.01+5 = 5.01kg

velocity = V

According to law of conservation of momentum, total momentum remains conserved during a collision.

So,

Total Momentum before impact = Total Momentum after impact

= 1.5 = 5.01×V

= V = 1.5/5.01 = 0.3m/s

So,

The combined velocity is 0.3m/s

Cheers!
