Let the oxidation number of Br be x
We know Oxidation number of O which is -2
then x+2(-2)=-1
x=3

manthan7445: we have to find for 2BrO2 -
nishitdudeja2303: Sorry
manthan7445: so what could be the answer?
manthan7445: do u know??
nishitdudeja2303: it would be 6
manthan7445: it is correct but how???
nishitdudeja2303: 2Br 2(3) Actually one atom of Br will oxidise at 3 and another at 6 i.e 2Br
manthan7445: thanks bro
