Step-by-step explanation:

given, Principal = Rs. 2500, Rate of interest = 4%

Time = 1½ years

Inerest = ptr / 100

given, amount compounded half yearly

=> Interest for first half year = 2500 x 4 x ½ / 100

=> Interest for first half year = 2500 x 4 x 1 / 200

=> Interest for first half year = Rs. 50

Now, Principal for second half year = 2500+50

=> P = 2550 , r = 4% , t = 1/2

=> Interest for 2nd half year = 2550 x 4 x ½ / 100

=> Interest for 2nd half year = 2550 x 4 x 1 / 200

=> Interest for 2nd half year = Rs. 51

Now, Principal for third half year = 2550+51

=> P = 2601 , r = 4% , t = 1/2

=> Interest for 3rd half year = 2601 x 4 x ½ / 100

=> Interest for 3rd half year = 2601 x 4 x 1 / 200

=> Interest for 3rd half year = Rs. 52.02

.•. amount at the end of 3rd half year = P + I

= 2601 + 52.02 = Rs. 2653.02
