Question :

Velocity of a body weighing 1kg chances from 5 m/s to 25 m/s in 5 s. Find Force Acting

___________________

GiveN :

  • Mass of body (m) = 1 kg
  • Initial velocity (u) = 5 m/s
  • Final velocity (v) = 25 m/s
  • Time interval (t) = 5 s

To FinD :

  • Force Acting

SolutioN :

For calculating force acting, we have to firstly find out acceleration of the body. Use 1st equation of motion :

⇒v = u + at

⇒25 = 5 + a * 5

⇒25 = 5 + 5a

⇒5a = 25 - 5

⇒5a = 20

⇒a = 20/5

⇒a = 4

Acceleration of body is 4 m/s²

_____________________

Now, use formula for force

⇒F = m * a

⇒F = 1 * 4

⇒F = 4

Force acting is 4 N

Answer:

4 Newtons

Explanation:

Given :

  • Mass of the body = m = 1 kg

  • Initial velocity = u = 5 m/s

  • Final velocity = v = 25 m/s

  • Time taken = t = 5 seconds

To find :

  • Force acting on the body

Force = Mass × Acceleration

Acceleration = (final velocity - Initial velocity) / time

Acceleration = (v-u) / t

Acceleration = (25-5)/5

Acceleration = 20/5

Acceleration = 4 m/s²

Force = 1×4

Force = 4 Newtons

The force acting on the body is equal to 4 Newtons
