Answer:

a=6; a+3=9

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the two natural numbers be a and a+3

(as From question: it is said that the two natural numbers differ by 3.)

From question it is said that their squares sum is 117.

so,  a²+(a+3)²=117

    =>a²+a²+2(a)(3)+3²=117

    =>2a²+6a+9=117

   =>2a²+6a-108=0

=>2(a²+3a-54)=0

=>a²+3a-54=0

=>a²+9a-6a-54=0

=>a(a+9)-6(a+9)=0

=>(a+9)(a-6)=0

ans: a=-9 ; a=6

here a=-9 is not considered as the question clearly mentions natural number so a=6;

second number=a+3

                         = 6+3

                          =9.

so here second number is 9

Hope it helps you:)
