Given 2x + 3y = 9 ------------- (1)

           3x + 4y = 5   ------------- (2)

On solving (1) * 3 & (2) * 2, we get

           6x + 9y = 27

           6x + 8y = 10

           --------------------

                    y = 17.

Substitute y = 17 in (1), we get

2x + 3y = 9

2x + 3(17) = 9

2x + 51 = 9

2x = 9 - 51

2x = -42

x = -21.

Therefore x = -21 and y = 17.

Hope this helps!

2x + 3y = 9     ---------1equation

3x + 4y = 5    ----------2equation

Now,

2x + 3y = 9        ----------1equation   multiply by  3

3x+ 4y = 5         ----------2equation  multiply by   2

then,

6x + 9y = 27           --------------new 1equation
6x + 8y= 10            --------------new 2 equation

subtracting both equations

6x + 9y = 27
6x +8y   = 10
-    -        -

 - y =-17

y= 17

putting the value of y in 1equation

2x + 3y = 9

2x + 3(17)  = 9

2x + 51 = 9

2x = 9-51

2x= -42

x = -42/2

x= -21

then

value of y = 17

and value of x= -21

i hope this will help you, thanks
