Class                              Frequency                   c.f

 0 - 10                                 4                               4

10 - 20                                4                               8

20 - 30                               8                               16

30 - 40                               10                             26

40 - 50                               12                             38

50 - 60                               8                              46

60 - 70                                4                              50.

Now,

N = 50, N/2 = 25.

Now we should find a value whose cf should be greater than N/2 = 25.In the above cf 26 > N/2 = 25

Therefore Median class = 30 - 40.

Hope this helps!

Hey there!

The median of the given data is the Class containing the middle frequency .

Sum of frequencies =  \sum f_{i} = 4 + 4 + 8 + 10 + 12 + 8 + 4 = 50 .

Now , The median = 25th frequency .

25th frequency lies in 4th class [ 30-40 ]

Therefore, Median class = 30 - 40 .

Note : You can do this by finding Cumulative Frequency as well
