Marble is CaCO3 reaction with dil. Hcl will be :-

CaCO3 + HCl----------->CaCl2 + CO2 + H2O

gas evolved is CO2 when it is passed through lime water it again forms marble of calcium carbonate.

Ca(OH)2 + CO2 ------------->CaCO3 + H2O

When excess gas is passed

CaCO3 + H2O + CO2 ----------->Ca(HCO)3

Lime water will become milky...

Because carbon dioxide gas evolved from the solution that contained HCl.

The equation for this is->

Ca(OH)2 + CO2 -> CaCo3 + H2O
