The animal census is conducted after 5 years, as to my knowledge. So, I am assuming a 5 year interval for each bar in the graph.

Answer:

India is known to be one of the countries with the highest tiger population. Being one of the leaders in the world it is a concern to notice the declining population density of tigers in the country.

As per the animal census conducted in the year 1998, the tiger population was estimated to be 3642. The next five years showed a steep drop to around 1411. This is an alarming rate of drop as it can lead to complete extinction of the big cats.

The next census, however, showed a positive result as it portrayed an increase of the population to about 1704. It was noted to be an encouraging sign.

The following five years, again, showed an increase to an estimated 2226. The increasing population tigers could be thought of as a positive result of the efforts put in the government.

In 2018, the census suggested another increase in the population to 3890. Though there is an increase, the tiger population is still too low to be considered as a safe margin. This trend suggests that we are heading in the right direction but it is still not enough as the tigers are still at a risk of going extinct.

We have to save tigers in order to maintain the diversity both Biologically as well as aesthetically. Save tigers, save the bio-balance.
