Hello, here is your answer

a. Pollination: Pollination is the process of transfer of pollen grains from anther to stigma.

The two types of pollination found in flowering plants are:

i) Self pollination: that occurs within the same plant.

ii) Cross-pollination: that occurs between two flowers of two different plants but of the same kind.

b. The heart is made up of two chambers:

i) The upper two chambers of the heart are called auricles.

ii) The lower two chambers of the heart are called ventricles.

The heart wall is made up of three layers:

i) The outer layer of the heart wall is called epicardium.

ii) The middle layer of the heart wall is called myocardium.

iii) The inner layer of the heart wall is called endocardium.

The heart consists of four valves:

i) The aortic valve that prevents the backflow of blood when it is pumped from left ventricle to aorta.

ii) The mitral valve that prevents the backflow of blood when pumped from left atrium to left ventricle.

iii) The pulmonary valve that prevents backflow of blood when it flows from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery.

iv) The tricuspid valve that prevents backflow of blood when it is pumped from the right atrium to right ventricle.

The arteries carry the blood rich in oxygen from the heart to different parts of the body. The pulmonary artery, being an exception, carries deoxygenated blood to the lungs for purification.

The veins carry impure blood from different parts of the body to the heart for oxygenation. However, the pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood to the heart.

c. In cockroach, respiration occurs through spiracles – a small opening on the sides of its body. ... When oxygen-rich air enters into the body of the cockroach via spiracles into the tracheal tubes, it diffuses into various tissues and cells of the body. Here, oxygen is used up to liberate energy.

d. Rusting of iron refers to the formation of rust, a mixture of iron oxides, on the surface of iron objects or structures. This rust is formed from a redox reaction between oxygen and iron in an environment containing water (such as air containing high levels of moisture). The rusting of iron is characterized by the formation of a layer of a red, flaky substance that easily crumbles into a powder.

e. The magnetic effect of electric current is known as electromagnetic effect. It is observed that when a compass is brought near a current carrying conductor the needle of compass gets deflected because of flow of electricity. This shows that electric current produces a magnetic effect.
