2.There are two main types of physical weathering: Freeze-thaw occurs when water continually seeps into cracks, freezes and expands, eventually breaking the rock apart.

3.Soil is a mixture of organic matter, minerals, gases, liquids, and organisms that together support life.

a) The most obvious difference between extrusive rocks and intrusive rocks is crystal size.

b) Erosion refers to the displacement of the solids through wind, water and ice. Weathering refers to the decomposition of the rocks, soil and minerals through direct contact with the atmosphere. The eroded materials are displaced in the case of erosion. The weathered materials are not displaced in the case of weathering.
