Question

Divide 2x²+11x+15 by (x+3)

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

x+3)2x²+11x+15(2x+5

\:\:\:2x²+6x

\:\:\:(-)\:(-)

\:\:\:_______

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:5x+15

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:5x+15

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:(-)(-)

\:\:\:_______

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:X

After dividing we obtain :

Quotient=2x+5

Remainder=0

Step by step explanation

  1. First check the degree of first terms in the dividend then to make the degree same multiply with any constant or Variable with divisor.
  2. Write terms with opposite sign.
  3. write new term in the next similarly repeat this process check the degree or value of dividend and again try to make same so that it is divisible.

Check by division algorithm

Dividend=Divisor×quotient+Remainder

=>2x²+11x+15=(x+3)(2x+5)+0
